The applied research is of great interest for the group. Several
industries operators in Italy and worldwide acquired from OPTOLAB
applied research and development of modern optical and electro-
optical instrumentation.

OPTOLAB (Laboratory of Optoelectronics) is a research laboratory
devoted to the design and development of sensors and
instrumentation for biomedical and industrial applications.
The OPTOLAB staff, consisting in PhD students and post-graduated
fellows, is leaded by Prof. Luigi Rovati. The research group started
its activity within the laboratory of optoelectronics at the University
of Brescia in 1998 and then moved to the Department of
Information Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio
Emilia in 2001. The two laboratories are constantly cooperating in
close contact and can cover a wide spectrum of research.
